The KGB was a key component of the Soviet tyranny. This from History.com;
As the Soviet Union's primary secret intelligence agency during the Cold War, the KGB gained notoriety for its widespread global espionage. But the organization—and its communist-era predecessors—also played a key role inside the Soviet Union: quashing political dissent.
... After the war and Stalin’s 1953 death, the NKVD—rechristened in 1954 as the KGB—retained much of its power over Soviet citizens’ lives. For the first time, dissidence became possible in the 1960s, following Stalin successor Nikita Khrushchev’s famous 1956 speech attacking the dictator’s cult of personality and the excesses that produced. But dissent still had consequences, even if not a firing squad or hangman’s noose.
Let's not forget that Putin became a professional Stalinist in the KGB.
After studying at Leningrad State University, in 1975 he went straight into the Soviet intelligence service, the KGB. It was a natural step for a law graduate, and it suited him perfectly.
Elon Musk wants America to become a dictatorial oligarchy like Putin's Russia. His gang of Silicon Valley CEO bros promote the Hegelian anti-thesis of Marxism originally proposed by Ayn Rand and now lead by Curtis Yarvin as I posted last year. In Marxism the government owns and does everything, in Randism the government does not exist.
The new age of Ayn Rand: how she won over Trump and Silicon Valley
Her novel The Fountainhead is one of the few works of fiction that Donald Trump likes and she has long been the darling of the US right. But only now do her devotees hold sway around the world
(I confess I was into her mindset when I operated Fountainhead.com from 1996 to 2001).
Musk owns Twitter and now he has vast amounts of data on all of us.
Data is the raw material for artificial intelligence. Data about data is meta-data or information. Information about information is knowledge. In the case of this virtual KGB it becomes the identification of opponents that threaten the tyranny.

So Musk has the data about most of us that his hacker children took from so many government operations; Elon Musk and DOGE are hacking the government.
Artificial intelligence can go through it and identify opponents that it suggests are influential at any level.
No wonder this Muscovite wants to own OpenAI.
Elon Musk’s full offer letter to buy OpenAI reveals five key details
A consortium of investors led by Elon Musk’s x.AI offered to buy OpenAI for $97.4 billion this week. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has dismissed the proposal, which would gum up OpenAI’s planned conversion from a nonprofit, something Musk is attempting to block in a lawsuit.
Altman’s lawyers argued in a Wednesday filing that Musk can’t have it both ways: attempt to buy OpenAI’s assets and also try to stop it from changing its nonprofit status. Musk’s team responded that it would withdraw the bid if OpenAI ceased its attempts to convert itself from a nonprofit.
Meanwhile, as a part of these filings, the full letter of intent from Musk’s team to buy OpenAI was made public.
My Shockwave name comes from Shockwave Rider a book that I read long ago when the I interacted with an unusual group of a famous Silicon Valley operation. The basis was to remain unidentifiable in a dystopian future.
Some are fighting back in the same dimension as Musk.
Has Elon Musk's DOGE Website Been Hacked? What We Know
Early on Friday morning, 404Media reported that the DOGE website could be edited "by anyone," citing two coders who claimed they had discovered a flaw in its setup.
The coders said doge.gov pulled data from an external database, and one could exploit this to post mocking messages on its homepage. The first read, "THESE 'EXPERTS' LEFT THEIR DATABASE OPEN – roro," while the second said: "This is a joke of a .gov site."
We are in uncharted waters in a storm with two madmen at the helm that want to sink the ship. Let's do all we can to stay afloat and fight back.
