Meta-movements and Bernie's political revolution

For many years I have been involved in the Single Payer movement.  I got started when NYCeve alerted me to the Natalie Sarkisyan tragedy back in 2007.  I went on to organize demonstrations of all sorts over the years, lobby for Single Payer in Sacramento and campaign for pro-Single Payer state candidates among other things.  Eventually, thanks to 6 corrupt Dem CA-Senators, the Single Payer movement suffered a major setback in 2012.  As a reaction, I became involved in the money out of politics movement and again I did what I could.

I have been involved and exposed to other movements in great part thanks to other inspiring Kossacks.

But the fragmentation of progressives in all these movements is something frustrating.  Each movement has its own dynamics and acts independently and disconnected from others. And then there is the issue of single issue voters.

Until Bernie;

Bernie Sanders, the progressive leader we have been waiting for, now leads a "political revolution"

I recognized and said hi to about 10 other fellow Los Angeles progressive activists and friends involved in causes ranging from overturning Citizen's United, stopping global warming, single payer, etc.

Then Bernie showed up.  The place went wild.

Bernie’s political revolution is lead by activists involved in all sorts of progressive movements and endorsements from major organizations involved in all sorts of movements with hundreds of thousands of activists;

For 1st time in nearly a quarter-century, largest peace group in U.S. endorses. It's Bernie Sanders!

National Nurses United endorses Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination

Some movements have not made a decision whether to support Bernie officially yet but their activists and members are already very active in Bernie’s political revolution and movement of movements.

Naomi Klein

Just last night I had the pleasure and honor to meet Naomi Klein at a “house party”.  She is the inspirational leader of many in the climate change and environment movements.  At this occasion last night I got to hang out with other famous Kossacks including dday, thereisnospoon and RLMiller, Climate Hawks Executive Director, who organized the event.

There were leading activists from many organizations.  Most of whom cannot get “officially” involved in politics.  But you could Feel the Bern from the beginning to the very end.  His climate change plan is key; Bernie Sanders Unveils Forceful Climate Change Plan, And He's Going After Big Oil.  RL is going to ask her supporters to vote on who should Climate Hawks support officially, but I bet all my money it will be Bernie by a landslide.

What we are watching is all these progressive movements coming together to change the dynamics of DC politics thanks to Bernie’s campaign.  I have never experienced this dynamic before.

Go Bernie go!
