In this  YouTubethe conversation in 2:43 minutes and lasts over 1 hour.  In it Bernie Sanders and AOC talk to Bill McKibben of 350.org who has been fighting the fossil fuel mafia (“industry”) for decades, David Wallace-Wells, who wrote .The Uninhabitable Earth, and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse about the climate crisis and what we can possibly do.

In my opinion they get the fact that we are close to a climate catastrophe because the emissions from burning fossil fuels that we need to stop ASAP to survive a worsening situation that will become disastrous if we gat past the point of no return if for example methane starts being released in the permafrost in Canada and Siberia because of global warming.

I watched this live YouTube even yesterday and it confirmed why we need to do all we can to stop burning oil, coal and gas and lead the world to achieve sustainability.

Global warming is pouring sand on the human civilization economy machine and all sorts of things will happen along the way with food supply chains, air travel, extreme weather events, climate migration, etc.

The fossil fuel industry has known for a long time of this probably coming disaster but have done all they can to keep it secret or oppose any action to stop it.  They do own the GOP and they will be responsible if human civilization falls off the cliff.

The greatest threat, facing our country and all of humanity

This other YouTube, titled “The greatest threat, facing our country and all of humanity” was released by Bernie 6 days ago and only lasts 11 minutes.  View it as an intro for the above longer one.

I believe we have a chance if we do all we can and Bernie and AOC’s leadership will help.

The GOP doesn’t get it.  This article in The Guardian out today; US Republicans oppose climate funding as millions suffer in extreme weather

… The memo specifically calls on Republican members of the Senate appropriations commerce, justice, science subcommittee to reject spending provisions focused on climate resilience and environmental justice efforts for scientific agencies. In one example, the memo objects to a Nasa request to fund its Sustainable Flight National Partnership, which seeks to help zero out planet-warming pollution from aviation.
