Extreme weather events are symptoms of the increasing climate crisis. They will become more common and worse everywhere.
Another symptom is the increase of “climate migrations”; Climate change is already fueling global migration. The world isn’t ready to meet people’s changing needs, experts say.
The “border crisis” is also part of this dynamic; It’s Not a Border Crisis. It’s a Climate Crisis.
Hopefully we will end the global warming that has fueled the climate crisis before it becomes a climate catastrophe that brings the end of human civilization as we know it.
To do this we need to stop burning fossil fuels ASAP everywhere in the planet.
We can’t keep taking only first steps, we need all hands on deck doing everything possible to prevent a catastrophe.
Does this cause fossil fuel industry to influence mainstream media to not call it what they really are? The advertising spent by it tells us why this may be the case;
We found that trade associations historically opposed to climate policies spent $2 billion in the decade from 2008 to 2018 on political activities, such as advertising, lobbying and political contributions. Together, they outspent climate-supporting industry groups 27 to 1.
The oil and gas sector was the largest, spending $1.3 billion. Across the 89 trade associations we examined in nine different sectors of the U.S. economy between 2008 and 2018, no other group of trade associations came close.
To stop the climate crisis before we reach the point of no return we need to all do everything we can to stop adding greenhouse gases to the atmosphere by producing all electricity by using only clean energies such as solar and wind and switching to electric or green hydrogen cars, trucks, buses, trains, planes, ships, etc. We have the technology we need the leadership.
Climate 'points of no return' may be much closer than we thought
The idea of climate tipping points first emerged in a 2008 paper published in the journal PNAS, when researchers identified nine key tipping elements that could reach such a threshold due to human-caused climate change. In the new study, which was published Sept. 9 in the journal Science, a team of researchers reassessed data from more than 200 papers on the subject of tipping points published since 2008. They found that there are now 16 major tipping points, almost all of which could reach the point of no return if global warming continues beyond 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit (1.5 degrees Celsius) above preindustrial levels.
Mainstream media still influences society and it can be part of the dynamic to convince people as citizens, consumers, investors, managers, etc. to do everything they can to bring the end of the fossil fuel profits only mindset.
I hope that MSM starts having segments dedicated to this crisis we face before it’s too late.
There is an increasing covering on this end of history possibility and what needs to be done in DailyKos as well as Washington DC. Yes, humanity can end with a nuclear war and the Doomsday Clock is not looking good but the climate change clock is clicking towards something as bad every day.
In an ideal world, America would lead strongly to end climate change all over Earth starting in DC in spite of dirty lobbying.

Oil and gas industry spent $124.4 million on federal lobbying amid record profits in 2022
Koch Industries, the country’s second-largest privately held company, alone spent about $11.3 million, more than any other oil and gas company. Half a dozen other fossil fuel corporations — including Occidental Petroleum, ConocoPhillips, Exxon Mobil and Chevron Corp — spent another $44.3 million on lobbying.
In addition to being among the industry’s top lobbying spenders, Occidental Petroleum, Chevron and Exxon Mobil were also among the top emitters of methane and other greenhouse gasses in the U.S. in 2022,according to a Ceres and Clean Air Task Force report.
We can keep Earth habitable for future generations but we need to make the end of fossil fuels the highest priority.
This car gives me hope;
