Let’s just say I was at the top of my business game. I knew the maître d and I got a table at a very famous restaurant in Hollywood to impress a famous Silicon Valley VC I had made good money with. My wife and I met him for the first time that night.
When my friend, the maître d, walked us to our table, I noticed that Michael Milken was in a table next to ours. It was back in 1993, the day he got out of jail. He had been on the news for 24 hours. Michael was having dinner with another man.
We ordered and were sitting down when Trump showed up with Marla Maples and an entourage.
As the restaurant rearranged the tables to accommodate the 10 people in Trump’s party my wife got up to go to the bathroom. So I stood up as a gentleman. Next thing I’m standing next to Donald. So I stretched my hand and said; “Donald, nice meeting you”. His reaction was unique. I’ve met thousands of people around the world and nobody reacted that way. Trump changed his facial expression to one of complete disgust. And he almost got down to his knees in a dark corner of the restaurant. My wife and Marla came back from the restroom having a friendly chat while I was deciding whether to punch Donald for insulting me.
That was the day after Michael got out of jail. Last week, Trump pardoned him. Michael tried to get pardoned by every president since 1993.
So was it synchronicity?

On Friday, Rachel Maddow went deep into the flow of money involving a recent donor to Trump’s campaign, Nelson Peltz, who asked Trump to pardon Milken after he gave him big campaign donations. Peltz made a lot of money with Milken.
Back in 1993, there were only three parties that night at that special restaurant. Milken’s, Trump’s and mine.
Talk about synchronicity. Why else would Trump be there? That day?
